Somewhere between a trail run, swimming in a spring fed creek, sleeping beneath millions of stars in a clear sky, and walking through red sand I decided being an outdoorsy person is the type of person I am and the type of person I always want to be. Even when the kids come. Actually, especially when the kids come. I hope we never lose our sense of awe or our craving to be out of doors and walls instead of in doors and walls. I hope we pass it on to them.

i love absolutely everything about this post with all my heart. honest to goodness.
maybe the next girls trip should be camping and this beautiful place. scratch that-lets get the families together (even our tiny dogs) and do a camping trip. can you imagine?? love the pics kate!!
This is beautiful! My parents raised me to be an outdoor girl (it feels like we were camping every weekend when I was younger) but I've lost some of the now that I live in the city. Makes me sad. But! I have goals this summer that include camping and adventures in nature. And now I'm even more determined!
I want to blow up that last picture really big and hang it on my living room wall. I love it that much. And I like that you are outdoorsy. There's no way that will go away when the kids come.
loving all of these posts and photos. and love that you are so outdoorsy, i wish i was more like that. what a wonderful thing to pass on to your kiddos.
