28.1.12

all along the western front

Our Saturday was spent cleaning our apartment, finishing up our homework for the week, making study guides, climbing at the gym, grocery shopping and eating homemade salsa. We just finished watching the movie "Super 8" and... wow, that wasn't what I was expecting. I hadn't seen a trailer but had read good things. I pressed play expecting a sweet film about making films and before I know it I'm knee deep in conspiracy theory and military projects gone wrong.  Maybe it was not being fully prepared for what the movie was about, but I wasn't a fan, I sort of just felt like I was watching "War of the Worlds" all over again. Now we're watching "Ides of March" and so far so good. But I'm blogging and Lando is doing pushups soooooo.......

We lead glamorous lives.

And this photo has absolutely nothing to do with this post, I just happened to come across it. My Mom is the one on the left and my Aunt Jill (my name's sake) on the right. I just love this photo.

Well you totally look like your name sake. I love old photos too. It's fun to see that our parents where just as young and clueless as we are now.

And I haven't seen Super 8 yet, but now I"m not really not sure if I want to even though I love a good conspiracy now and then (and yes, I seriously think the landing on the moon was fake.)

I haven't seen your blog for a long time, and the other day I thought this girl looked SO familiar at the rock climbing gym... and it was you! You and your husband are so cute & really good at rock climbing. I hope you left before I got up there because, well, I'm extreeeemly afraid of heights, and it was pretty embarrassing. haha :) I'm glad I came across your blog again, I hope things go good with you & everything you hope for this year!

Hey, I took this photo. My skills are unmatched. Those were the days, ponchos crocheted by your grandma and a flashy new Timex on the wrist.

Your comment put a big smile on my face. You've already read my blog???? Whaaaa?? That's a huge compliment coming from you. Also, I really love old photos like this one. Your mom is adorable and I want her beanie.

i totally thought the same thing about that movie Kate! it wasn't even the conspiracy theories that killed it for me- it was the language! your mom doesn't even look the same, I've never seen her short! i love old photos.

I'm SO glad you said that about Super 8! we watched it over break and everyone loved it and I thought it was kind of dumb... I'm not a fan of weird alien/war of the worlds type of movies. and yes, everyone talked about how good it was and I was severely disappointed. so glad someone agrees!

and holy cow you guys are productive for a Saturday!

(and I'm bad at leaving comments/catching up on blogs so I'm sorry I haven't commented in a long time. which is a shame cause I love your blog!)

and my novel is done.
