11.8.11

i have no story to be told

I realize my blog is becoming less and less aesthetically pleasing and more and more discombobulated (yep.) But, I like having these little updates to go back and read. Call me selfish, I'm a selfish blogger.

When I was little I said "just kidding!" all the time. When something was funny "just kidding!" when something was awkward "just kidding!" when I asked someone a question "just kidding!" (nearly as bad as Judy Grimes!) My aunt used to tell me that on my headstone they should put "died this day" and on the back put "just kidding!" which when I think about it now that is kind of a weird way to put it, but I said it a lot. Well now I realize I say "sorry!" way too much. When someone opens a door for me "sorry!" When I have to take dishes to the dishwasher at work "sorry!" when I bump into Lando when we brush our teeth "sorry!" Most of the time I'm in the way, I guess. #MiddleChildSyndrome.

I have been swimming for workouts as of late. I love it, but man it does a number on my skin and hair. I might need to get a swimming cap, will anyone be my friend still?

Something neat happened a few nights ago. Preface: I've been trying to get into a class for 2 semesters now. The more credits you have the sooner you can register, so I kept just missing this class because seniors sign up for it first. I was put on the waiting list last semester and sat through the first day of class only to have the professor kick me out the second day. I'm was on the waiting list this semester again but he emailed me and said "I can't make any promises" with the class availability saying -4/30 seats I didn't think it would happen. Story: A few nights ago I was being an insomniac (it's a problem) and surfing the Internet at 1:30 am or so... right when I went to shut the computer down and force myself to sleep I thought "I'm going to go check and see if that class is open" (why?) It was guys, it totally was. 1/30 seats! What a relief. Graduation will come as planned. Even though it would have anyway, it's nice to feel less anxious. Prologue: The Lord is aware of something as simple as a class I need to get into, I know that.

We've been watching "WWII in HD" on netflix the past few weeks. It makes me feel heartbroken and proud all at the same time. It also totally made our minds up about and name we've mentioned and now decided we will name our first son... yes a WWII show... cryptic!

Is is McArthur? Is it Patton? Is it Dwight? Is it Franklin? Is it Adolf? Am I getting warm at all? I'm sorry, I'm just kidding.

I love to read you Kate.

Yay for getting into a class you need. Registering can be so stressful.

I love love love swimming. Get a cap, it makes all the difference in the world. Your hair will still take a beating, but eh, it's worth it. I use a special "purifying" shampoo once a week and it seems to help. As far as the skin goes, yeah it's not the best feeling in the world but I like that it helps with the acne, freaking young adult acne, I thought once I graduated high school I'd be done with this crap!

oooh, i love a good baby name conversation. speaking of, one of my best friends is having her third babe and we were talking names, she mentioned one she liked and i told her a boy name we've loved forever. she said "oh, that's on our list." i wanted to reach through the phone and shake her shoulders demanding she not name her kid that. dramatic? maybe, but when we've been married as long as we've had with no kids, i'm a little possessive of things like that. :)

oh, you should find a cute retro swim cap. you could totally rock that style!

annnnd.. yes! take a ride to portland!! seriously, i'd love to hang out with you up here!! #notkidding

Funny you should mention Middle Child Syndrome, because I totally made up the Youngest Child Syndrome...the name, the definition, what we're like and what we suffer from. Haha...but 9 times out of 10 me and the other "youngests" are alike.

I, too, was a victim of the just kidding phase...and even of the sorry phase, but I have learned to only say sorry when I mean it {which is still a lot!}.

Derrick says that I say sorry too much also! I think it's just a habit now. Yikes. I need to work on that.

i love this blog. just the way it is. and i love a girl in a swim cap as long as you are also wearing a swim dress and the cap has ruffles or rubbery flowers on it.
